Winchester Flashmob 25th Feb 2014
A review with a difference! This time blogging as a performer, it was thrilling to work with Liz Richards and my peers in choreographing a flashmob for the centre of Winchester. Developing ideas along the theme of touring the historic town, a group of students picked out specific landmarks in a game of chase and statues. At one moment we disappeared within the crowds and in another transformed in to silly montages, statuesque tableaus or a crocodile file crossing the road. I have discovered that there is an art to flashmobbing, to creating the element of surprise, to dispersing and disappearing as quick as appearing and to the anti-climax of not having an encore to an applauding audience. I am hooked and looking forward to exploring Liz Richard’s research and designing flashmobs of my own.
